Any questions email me, Gav, [email protected]

Many thanks,

Community Police Invitation

9/5/2026

We would like to invite local residents to a small “Have Your Say” meeting at the Reading Room.

This will be an informal opportunity for us to come over, introduce ourselves, and meet with you and other members of the local community. We’re keen to listen to your views, answer questions, and hear any ideas you may have.

If the meeting is well received, we would be very happy to look at making this a regular event every couple of months, should that be something the community would be interested in.

Proposed date:
Reading Room
Wednesday 13th May
11.30am

Newsletter and Website Changes

7/5/2026

Hi all,

Just another note on the impending changes to the newsletter and website, during May the old newsletter will stop so if you want to continue receiving news you need to get alerts from the new website.

To do that click here add your email address, check the News and Events boxes and then Click the Create button, you will get an email asking you to confirm, you wont get any alert emails unless you confirm it in the email you will be sent.

NOTE - CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER FOR THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL

Some people have reported the email goes into the spam, so please check there and add the email address to your safe senders list.

Any problems drop me an email - [email protected].

Website and newsletter changes

1/5/2026

Hi all,

I mentioned here that the website and newsletter are being updated to a new system, I expect to get this completed in May.

There are 2 main things to note:

1. There will be a new website, it will look different but have the same content - you can see what it looks like at this link www.hugofox.com/community/great-coxwell-21164/home, when it is live you will be able to get to it using the current link (www.greatcoxwell.com).

2. The old format newsletter will stop, news and events will be posted to the new website and you will be able to see them using the links below, if you want to be alerted to news and events you need to sign up for email alerts, these will replace the old newsletter. You can sign up now but going the to website and clicking the button shown below, you will then get an email to allow you to confirm that you want to sign up. There are currently 168 subscribers to the newsletter, so far only 3 signed up for the news and alerts on the new site. If you get stuck with this please email me at [email protected] and I will try to help, but due to GDPR I can not import all the old users into the new system.

This is the news page on the new site
https://www.hugofox.com/community/great-coxwell-21164/news/

This is the events page on the new site
https://www.hugofox.com/community/great-coxwell-21164/events/

Click the blue button to sign up, then enter your email address and check the Events and News boxes, then click Create, you will get an email to confirm that you do want to receive News and Events,

Thanks,
Gav

Play at Court House on 17th June

27/4/2026

Picture
The Three Inch Fools will return to Great Coxwell and the gardens at Court House on Wednesday 17th June. The company are regulars at Great Barn Festivals, stately homes and gardens across the land and after a successful stand alone show last year at Court House, the national tour of King Alfred and the Holy Fail promises to offer fans the fast paced humour, music and dubious historical recollection of past seasons. It is perfect for a family audience. Pack your picnic, we will have a bar in the Hayloft and the Great Barn and bring a chair or a rug for top class professional theatre on your doorstep.

Early bird tickets available until the end of April or until the first limited release run out. Tickets available through www.threeinchfools.com, Eventbright or call Ainslie at Danes Cottage to buy direct and miss the booking fees. Tel 07774459046 [email protected]

Profits from the event will benefit COGS youth mental health services for Faringdon and surrounding villages, all the more reason to saddle up - things are about to get legendary!

Great Coxwell Book Club

2/4/2026

The Great Coxwell book club seeks new members.  The book club has been in operation for over 10 years.  The group would like to extend the invitation to the village for new members to join us.  We meet approximately every six to eight weeks and take it in turns choose a book and host the group providing wine and nibbles.  If anyone would like more information and is interested in joining, please contact Ian Mason on 07973 793089 or [email protected]’

Update to website and newsletter

1/4/2026

Over the next month or so the website (www.greatcoxwell.com) and the associated newsletter will be updated to use the same website and news system that the parish council have moved to.

This is because the current website is becoming hard to maintain and the technology is quite out of date.

The migration to the new website is a work in progress but you can get an idea of what it looks like by clicking this link.

The new website will have specific News and Events sections and you will be able to sign up for alerts for news and events, this alert system will replace the newsletter.

I'll keep you up to date with progress, but in the mean time if you have any questions please email me (Gavin) at [email protected].

Regards,
Gavin

Stonevale AirBnB

26/3/2026

I have listed our recently developed Flat on AirBnB ("Strawberry Fields" as a nod to the pre-1950's Gt Coxwell strawberry farm where 'Stonevale' and 'Corner Beeches' now sit) so don't be concerned if you see short-stay visitors wandering around Stonevale.  I will try to manage the parking, but if anyone is inconvenienced, please let me know.

The Flat is also available to locals needing a place for friends or family, and I will of course offer a discount. Just let me know directly (not via AirBnB).
