The speaker on 9th November in the Faringdon Corn Exchange will be Captain William Wells. The title of his talk will be “London’s Liquid History”. This fascinating talk will be about the River Thames from its source to the sea. We shall learn about the bridges, weirs, locks, islands, ferries, tunnels, docks and tides. This talk is strongly recommended. The talk will start at 2.30pm. Refreshments will be provided afterwards. All members are welcome but visitors are required to pay £1.50

The consultation in Faringdon is on Tuesday 14th November between 2 and 7.30pm at Faringdon Town FC Clubhouse whose address is Tuckers Park, 1 Park Road, SN7 7BP. The Parish Council have spoken to the developers and they are willing to come to a Parish Council meeting and give a presentation in the village and hear our views - we think this will be in January. Welbeck hope to get the outline application in to the Vale of the White Horse planning department by January 2018.
The Parish Council want your views on how you wish us to respond to this application. We will get as much information from the Vale and from our District Councillors as we can, and keep you informed through the newsletter and through the Parish Council meetings. Residents across southern Oxfordshire who are signed up for brown bin collections can put out twice as much garden waste during one week this month. South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse district councils are giving those who are part of the paid-for service the opportunity to put out the equivalent of one extra bin’s worth of garden waste (around three large bin bags) during: • week commencing 16 October – Vale of White Horse • week commencing 23 October – South Oxfordshire Residents should leave their extra garden waste out in bin liners or sacks beside their brown bins on their usual collection day during these weeks. Trade waste bags cannot be accepted. Please be vigilant and ensure your out buildings and sheds are secure, there were some break ins along Dark Lane on Friday night (6th October) around 9:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
